Submit your homework

You submit your work by writing it in the box, attaching files, or both. Each file can be up to 15MB. You can resubmit if your teacher allows it and your work hasn't been graded yet.

Steps

  1. Go to “Assignments”. Each card has a status label (“Open”, “Allow late submissions”, “Past due” or “Closed”) and shows where your work stands (“Not submitted”, “Submitted”, “Late” or a score, for example “Graded 8.5/10”). Click a card to open it; the card says “Start”, “View submission”, “View grade” or “View assignment”.
  2. Read the “Assignment instructions & requirements” section and download the “Reference materials from the teacher” if there are any.
  3. In the “Your work” block, type in the “Answer / Notes on your work” box, and/or click “Attach files” (you can choose several files).
  4. Click “Submit assignment”. When you see “Assignment submitted!”, you're done.
  5. To change your work after submitting: if it's allowed, click “Resubmit”. The “Status & Due date” box says “Submitted on time” or “Submitted late”, and “Submission 2”, “Submission 3”… when you resubmit.
  6. Once your teacher has graded it, the page says “Your work has been graded” and you can't change it anymore. You can see your score, the feedback, and the score for each criterion if your teacher graded with a rubric.

Options and limits

Deadline
The due date for the assignment, shown in the “Status & Due date” box.
Allow late submissions
“Allowed”: you can still submit after the due date, and your work is marked “Late”. “Not allowed”: once the due date has passed, you can't submit anymore.
Resubmission
“Allowed”: you can edit and resubmit until your teacher grades your work. “Not allowed”: you can only submit once.

Common errors and how to fix them

  • “Please enter your work or attach at least one file” → write something or attach a file, then click submit again.
  • “File … exceeds the maximum size (15MB)” → compress the file or split it into several smaller files.
  • “Your work has been graded” → your teacher has graded it, so you can no longer change or resubmit it.
  • “Your teacher has closed submissions. Contact your teacher if you need to submit more.” → ask your teacher to reopen submissions.
  • “The due date has passed and this assignment does not accept late submissions.” → the due date is over; only your teacher can extend it.
  • “This assignment can only be submitted once.” → you've already submitted it and your teacher doesn't allow resubmissions.
  • “This assignment is no longer available” → your teacher has archived the assignment, or you're no longer in the class. Click “Back to list”.
  • If the due date has passed but late submissions are still allowed, the page says “The due date has passed. Your submission will be marked as Late.”
  • The file picker only accepts PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and PNG/JPG files; each file can be up to 15MB. File sizes are shown in KB or MB, for example 12 KB or 2.5 MB.
  • When your teacher changes the score of a graded assignment to a different score, you get the notification “Assignment score changed: …” with the new score and the previous one.
